I wasn't sure what humidifier to get, so I bought four. The other three were ultrasonic. I am keeping the pureguardian ultrasonic for the bedroom since it's super quiet. But the ultrasonic types don't work in large spaces like this one. I have a 3000 two story home. This keeps my entire downstairs cozy. It only runs when needed and it's really not that loud. The size is perfect for putting this just about anywhere. I spent days doing research and this one had the highest marks. Now I know why. I'm very happy with this purchase.
